What’s Micropitch? - MicroPitch Caribbean

What is MicroPitch?

MicroPitch is a combination of entrepreneurship trainings and a business plan competition that give entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) of the Caribbean region the opportunity to boost their business by offering them capacity building and a platform to present (“pitch”) their business plans, solutions or ideas to a jury and audience, receiving personalised and instant feedback.

It is especially designed for established entrepreneurs who want to make the best of their business and are looking for opportunities to connect with mentors, expand their client portfolio, search for funding and/or investment sources and are eager to establish networks within the regional and local business ecosystem.

The objective of the MicroPitch is to improve capacity building and financial inclusion of Caribbean entrepreneurs by connecting innovative MSMEs with financial institutions and other partners while offering integral support to improve their development, positively impacting employment in the Caribbean region.

MicroPitch was created in 2019 as an initiative under the framework of the Technical Assistance Programme to the Financial Sector in the Caribbean region of the European Investment Bank (EIB), which is implemented by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Frankfurt School) since May 2018.

The objective of the EIB Caribbean Technical Assistance Programme is to promote responsible financial inclusion of the Caribbean populations, particularly for women and youth, so as to reduce poverty and encourage entrepreneurship across the Caribbean region.

Entrepreneurship Training Series

The Entrepreneurship Training Series is a comprehensive capacity building package designed for Caribbean entrepreneurs in order to equip them with a toolkit to boost their business and explore their true potential. The trainings are delivered by international high-level experts, are free and are opened to all Caribbean entrepreneurs who speak English.

Business Plan Competition

The MicroPitch competition provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to participate in a business plan competition where they can present their business in front of a high-level jury and win one of several awards, such as best entrepreneur or best female entrepreneur.
